Okeechobee
county sits like a top hat perched at the northern tip of
the second largest freshwater lake totally within the
confines of the United States. Okeechobee County is an
agriculture-based county located in the heartland of South
Central Florida. It is centrally located between the
Atlantic Ocean, some 50 miles to the east, and the Gulf of
Mexico, about 60 miles to the west. It is 105 miles south of
Orlando and about 150 miles northwest of Miami.
